Ring Brushes

There are 2 types of ring brushes with metal bodies, depending on the material of the body and its type of manufacture:

• Flat ring brushes with metal body

These are the most classic and commonly used worldwide. They have a thickness of about 13 mm (½”), and come in various inner diameter sizes. The traction with the machine is made through 1 or 2 metal studs for dragging.

They are mounted with polypropylene filaments or corrugated steel, and the most common sizes are: 77 mm (3”), 128 mm (5”), 162 mm (6½”), 178 mm (7”), 205 mm (8”), and 254 mm (10”).

The standard sizes of the complete ring would be: 77×300 mm, 128×550 mm, 162×540 mm, 178×600 mm, 178×700 mm, 254×600 mm, 254×760 mm, and 254×840 mm.

There are situations where it is advisable to mount the rings one after another, but they end up being too dense and hard, so small spacers should be placed between them.

• Zig-Zag ring brushes with metal body

It is an evolution of the previous one, where once finished, an additional industrial process is carried out to give it a zig-zag shape and avoid the use of spacers.

The shaft lock is made with 2 parallel studs separated by about 25 mm.

The main size of this model is the 162×540 mm ZZ ring, popularized by the Bobcat sweeper brand.

• Ring brush with plastic body

They are ring brushes, but basically cylindrical brushes with molded bodies. The bodies are manufactured by injection, having a larger working width than the metal body rings, with the most common size being 50 mm.

They are higher quality rings and more stable against sudden changes in brush rotation direction since the stud is a plastic key covering the entire ring.

These rings solve the common problem where the studs of the brushes break and the metal body rings remain loose on the shaft.

The following sizes of rings with plastic bodies are available: 110 mm (4½”), 128 mm (5”), 162 mm (6½”), 178 mm (7”), and 254 mm (10”).

The standard sizes of the complete ring would be: 110x330x50 mm, 110x380x50 mm, 128x550x50 mm, 162x540x50 mm, 178x600x50 mm, 178x700x50 mm, 254x600x60 mm, 254x760x60 mm, and 254x840x60 mm.
