Spiral Brush

Spiral brush is a steel profile strip brush that has a spiral form. We add a special tool to the strip brush making machine when it is finishing the strips, this tool bends it and it creates a traditional spiral brush.

This spiral brush is generally used in dynamic applications with a multitude of possible uses, as many as traditional strip brushes.

Spiral brushes have the same design options as rigid metal body strips, i.e. they can be made in the different sizes of body, outlet and fibre materials required, although they have some limitations in terms of bending radii, both small and large.

This spiral brush is generally used in dynamic applications with a multitude of possible uses, as many as traditional strip brushes.

Spiral brushes have the same design options as rigid metal body strips, i.e. they can be made in the different sizes of body, outlet and fibre materials required, although they have some limitations in terms of bending radius, both small and large.

In order to know which brush best fits our needs, 2 variables must be defined, which are the radius of curvature and the necessary pitch. The radius is the axis on which the spiral is mounted and the pitch is the distance between one revolution of the brush and the next, which can be glued together, if preferred.

When industrial spiral brushes of a certain length are ordered, we have to understand that their behaviour is very similar to that of springs, so their length may vary slightly.

As for the orientation of the fibres, they can face inwards or outwards, depending on the work to be done.

  • A brush with the fibres facing inwards can be used to work on cables, chains, profiles, belts and other elements that move continuously.
  • A brush with the fibres facing outwards can be used for working on tunnels, pipes, tubes, internally machined parts, cylinders, etc.

It is possible to work with the spiral brush in static mode and the workpiece in motion, or the other way round. Its main work will be cleaning, sealing or moving parts.

The spiral strip brush on spring is a spiral strip brush built, fixed and integrated in a spring to provide a high level of flexibility and stability, obtaining a spiral brush that is able to pass through elbows and complicated passages inside pipes, evolving and improving significantly the classic chimney sweepers that are very difficult to pass through.

The spring is of industrial character and provides body, stability and flexibility to the spiral strip brush. Female G¬Ĺ” threaded fittings are welded to it and the user is able to thread an element that makes it pull from both sides, so that the spiral strip brush on spring can pass without difficulty through the inside of elbows and complex turns in pipes.

Other threaded fittings or male instead of female can be customized upon request, but the standard is a G¬Ĺ” female in stainless steel.

The spring used as a base is also made of stainless steel, and can be made with any coil brush filament desired, whether synthetic, natural or wire, although most brushes made are either synthetic or made of carbon steel or stainless steel metal wire.

The synthetic brush is for simple superficial cleaning, which should be accompanied by degreasing or descaling agents, but when a higher cleaning intensity is needed, it is necessary that the spiral is made of carbon steel wire in normal pipes or stainless steel in stainless steel pipes.

The strip brush on spring is a very interesting and practical product, which is of great help for those companies or processes that require the interior cleaning of pipes in which, as it is very common, there are elbows and narrow passages.

This brush allows the incorporation of eyebolts in the threaded ends, being able to tie them to ropes or metallic wiring. This allows to cover large stretches of pipe being able to make any of the turns thanks to the adaptability of the shapes of the set.
